Waiting upon the Lord and in the lord is not easy.

We (Christian) have at some point in life given answers like, “am waiting upon the Lord”, and yes it’s always good to wait upon Him. But how easy is it to wait upon the Lord? Waiting upon the Lord is the hardest thing I’ve known…… Yes the hardest. When waiting for a friend, on a date or an appointment, one can always confirm with person, how far he/she but when waiting upon the Lord ‘you either wait or wait’. David said, ” I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psalms 40:1.

The issue of waiting IN THE LORD comes in when sarcasm, mockery, shame, reproach arise. How many of us are able to withstand this and pass the test? Hannah waited for the Lord but reproach pushed her to God even more. In our times sarcasm pushes us to bribing to secure a job, visiting witch doctors to conceive, and in the process we lose it all. We are left “waiting upon the Lord but not in the Lord”. The two can not be separated, it has to be ‘upon and in’ as Job did. Job 32:16. Some of us have been waiting but we have wondered away and this has delayed what we are waiting for.

May God give us the grace to persevere as we wait upon him and in him so that we can one day declare, ” we have waited for him, and ‘he has save us’..” Isaiah 25:9
